Tulsa Movie Theaters 2005 Calendar
Enjoy a nostalgic visit in Tulsa's great olde movie palaces with pictures and stories,
and read about the Tulsans who have a connection with the silver screen.
Reminisce about a by-gone era.....an era before DVDs, video, and special effects;
before disaster movies; before G, PG, R, and X; even before cinemascope. Going to
the movies before 1960 was unlike any other experience. Downtown Tulsa was alive
with theastre goers, late-night snackers, and window shoppers.
Going to the movies back then wasn't just about the movie. It was a dress-up time.
Dinner before or a snack afterward often included Bishop's, Nelson's, Ike's Chili,
the Coney I-Lander or the Zig-Zag restaurant. On the way home in your '57 Chevy
or Ford V-8 it could be a stop at Pennington's, Burt's or Frank's Pig Stand.
Grab a coke, a bag of popcorn, some Milk Duds and sit back and enjoy yet another
great nostalgic calendar about Tulsa.

is just the most recent.
One of the outstanding nostalgic calendars produced by Yellow Pad Inc. pays tribute
to Oklahomans who have received the Medal of Honor; V - E Day in Tulsa, the Oklahoma
National Guard and reservists, the Codetalkers, the thousands who have given blood

There's also a salute to the late Bill Mauldin, creator of those two famous bearded
infantrymen, Willie and Joe. Mauldin's personal original collection of his "Up Front"

Oklahoma 2002 Calendar
More than calendars!!
Timeless keepsakes!!
Nostalgia is in
The past comes alive with a 2002 nostalgic tribute to the state of Oklahoma
as it approaches its 100th anniversary in 2007.
The cover shows the laying of street car tracks in downtown Bartlesville in l908.
Other photographs include a steam locomotive pulling rail cars loaded from cowcatcher
to caboose with settlers, and a downtown Lawton patriotic parade, a sod school house
in Blaine County.
But one of the favorite photos is the first church service in Perry,
Oklahoma within weeks after the Run l893. The picture of the outdoor service shows
men on horseback and some women with parasols and some with rifles.
There are two great pictures of downtown small towns teeming with horses,
wagons and settlers waiting for the start of the Cherokee Outlet Land Run in l893.
The l2 sidebars provide a first hand chronicle of a Philadelphian by
way of Florida who came to Oklahoma Territory in l889 to "take in the run." He and
hundreds of others participated in the Great Land Run that virtually opened the
Oklahoma territory.

Tulsa 1998 Calendar
Open this calendar to a great collection of vintage photographs and hundreds of
interesting quick facts -- and it's all Tulsa.
Businesses, street scenes and a skyline from 1928 capture the growth and economy
of the city. Ice skating on Swan Lake, the YMCA and a boy's sandlot baseball game
speaks about the people and the heart of Tulsa.
Yellow Pad condensed a century into a single year. No, that's not enough, but it's
a great start. Examine the photos, peruse the facts and hopefully it will rekindle
pleasant memories of Tulsa's first 100 years.
